IA STUDIO – Edition 1.1 Framework Announcement (January 2026)
Issued: 12 January 2026
Status: Public documentation update
IA STUDIO Edition 1.1 (January 2026) marks the formalisation of the Hybrid Reasoning Framework developed through Project 001 — The 1834 William IV Sixpence.
This edition defines the structure, terminology and transparency principles applied within the framework, maintaining a clear distinction between independently produced laboratory evidence and interpretive computational support.
The Hybrid Reasoning Framework integrates human analytical reasoning, digital and computational tools, and independently produced laboratory measurement within a structured and traceable workflow for cultural-heritage research.
Developed through IA STUDIO’s first documented case study, Project 001, the framework formalised aspects of the analytical workflow used during the investigation. An earlier account of Project 001 was published through the British Numismatic Society Research Blog in 2025 and the methodological distinction between laboratory evidence and interpretive computational tools was subsequently discussed in The E-Sylum.
Edition 1.1 documents how human-supervised AI-assisted reasoning may support observation, comparison and hypothesis development while maintaining the evidential priority of independently produced physical measurements.
